Camera, Micro SD Slot & Battery

Moto G 3rd gen has evolved to quite an extent on its camera front. This particular feature has proven to be the Achilles Heel for Motorola in the past. This latest model in the series of Motorola Moto G mobiles features a 13-megapixel rear camera. As per the Company’s spokesperson, this rear camera is as good as the one offered by the Nexus 6. It comprises of a f/2.0 lens and is supported by dual-LED flash. The phone features a 5-megapixel front camera too. The visible change with regards to this Moto G’s camera is the added feature of its color balancing flash mark; this was unavailable so far. With a microSD card slot in place for added storage, the Motoraola Moto G 3rd Gen comes packaged with 470mAh battery that promises to offer up to 24 hours of mixed usage support. The 2nd gen Moto G had featured a 2-megapixel front camera and 8 -megapixel autofocus rear camera.

Connectivity & Software of Motorola Moto G Gen 3

The powerful connectivity options of this latest smartphone from Motorola includes Bluetooth 4.0, 4G LTE support, Micro-USB connectivity, and Wi-Fi features for keeping its users connected at all times. It is compatible with Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box software technology and has the coveted IPx7 certification to its credit. As this smartphone is a Moto device, it will not host a gamut of pre-loaded apps, unlike other mobiles in the fray. It features amazing Vanilla Android experiences for users and is bundled with other innovative features such as Quick Capture (found earlier in Moto X), Moto Display (glance notification), and the very new chop twice feature that switches on the LED flash to perfection. The dual-SIM Motorola Moto G (Gen 3) supports two different Micro-SIM cards with 4G LTE connectivity.

Design & Water Resistance

There is not much of a difference in the design of this Moto G 3rd gen mobile, especially when compared to other models in the same series. However, the newly added features such as its posterior dual tone finish and finely textured back panel are quite impressive. The  smartphone, like the earlier launched Moto G (Gen 2) has dual front speakers, apart from 2 microphones.  This Moto G will be best known for its IPX7 certification that proves its water resistance features; yes, it can be immersed for a maximum of 30 minutes in a depth of up to three feet of water!
